allergy season smoothie
Are you one of the thousands of melbournians who sneeze, sniffle and eye-scratch their way through the change of season? If so, using particular foods as medicine is a great adjunct to your other herbal or acupuncture treatments. This vibrant smoothie contains antioxidants that aid to reduce inflammation, nutrients to help thin and remove mucous, amino acids to help improve blood flow and removal of snotty wastes and electrolytes to replace what you might have lost with those watery eyes and nose.
Try making a double serve and drinking half for breakfast and the rest throughout the day.
Hayfever Smoothie
Serves 2
2 small cooked peeled beetroots (you can roast them yourself or buy pre-boiled in the vegetable section of your supermarket)
1 whole orange (peel but leave as much white stuff on as you can)
1/2 cup frozen raspberries
300mls coconut water
Water as needed
Place all ingredients in a blender and blend to your hearts content. Add extra water if you like a thinner consistency.
With gratitude,
