OUR TIPS FOR SPRING
Spring is all about new beginnings, growth and nourishing ourselves.
It’s a great time to set new goals and shed any patterns or emotions that no longer serve us.
In Chinese Medicine Theory, Spring is related to the wood element (Liver and Gallbladder) and the Wood element is all about movement and re-birth. The function of the Liver and Gallbladder is related to metabolism and detoxification so Spring is a great time to give your mind, body and surroundings a detox.
Whether that be a detox of things in your life, or nourishing your body with a gentle detox, now is the time! Here are a few tips to help kickstart your body this Spring!
Schedule 1 hour of electronic free time per day!!
Whether that be no phones, computers or TV, try to find something to do that requires you to connect back in with yourself. Meditation, exercise, cooking, reading, writing or something creative that you enjoy are all great things to help de-clutter your mind and give your body a reset!
Spring Clean
De-clutter your home, bedroom or office, allow physical and energetic space for new things to come into your life. Get rid of things that no longer serve you, clear your space and your mind to keep you motivated and supported.
Drink lemon water
Lemon is full of antioxidants to help clear out any nasties that may be floating around your body. It is also great at aiding digesting and giving some support to your Liver and Gallbladder for metabolism and detoxification.
Set goals
As I have said previously, Spring is about new beginning and moving forward. This is a perfect time to really get clear and precise about your goals, what motivates you and what you are working towards. Write a list of goals, create a vision board- create something that is going to drive you and bring you happiness.
Prevent allergies
Moving into the beautiful season of Spring can sometimes exacerbate symptoms of hay fever and allergies. There is a lot of movement and new growth which can often mean that people can suffer from allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose or eyes or a blocked nose which can be very debilitating.
Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine is great at helping clear out the nose and sinuses and also boosting the immune system to help you fight off these symptoms and preventing them from recurring!
