Dr Tory Giles

Shift Founder and Director. Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, Personal Trainer + Pilates Instructor

BHSc (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine)

Hello! I'm Tory, Mum of two girls, founder and practitioner of Shift Natural Medicine. I’m trained in health, love what I do and practice what I preach (most of the time) and excited to inspire and support you on your health journey.

From a young age, my passion has been about exercising, feeling good, staying motivated to reach my true potential, and having a healthy body and mind. As I got older, this passion grew into educating and guiding others to feel the same.

After two years of studying a bachelor of Health Science (Exercise Science) degree and then completing a 5-year bachelor of Heath Science (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine) degree at Melbourne’s leading natural therapies university, I brainstormed the initial foundations of Shift Natural Medicine whilst running along the beaches of Port Phillip Bay.

I wanted to create a space where eastern and natural medicine could be delivered in a modern, fresh and integrative way, whilst being up to date and working alongside leading western medicine research and care.
Shift is an inviting, relaxing, nurturing, empowering space, and leaves people inspired to live the healthiest life they can.

Since university, I have completed a personal training and Pilates instructor training, and attended many seminars and workshops, further educating myself in women’s health, fertility, pregnancy, stress and anxiety, and body movement. This is where my treatment passions lie; supporting couples through a healthy pre-conception, pregnancy and post-partum period, educating women (and getting them excited) about their menstrual flow and the importance of hormone balance, and the strong connections of your body, mind and emotions. I am a Mumma to my beautiful girls Evelyn and Savanna. I love working with Mums to achieve their health/mum/work/play/life balance.

In this day and age, Mindfulness is more important now then it ever has been, and we have to integrate and practice it in our daily routines. I find acupuncture (and meditation) a great tool for this integration. Our health is ultimately the foundation of our happiness.

But enough about me, lets talk about you! Come by and visit our clinic, or drop us a line. I would love to work with and inspire you.
